Notes: The topics below were made for an ESL English for Job Interviews class.
They are not lesson plans. The topics form a set of material created in the absence of a decent book to teach the class.
The topics vary in length and don't necessarily fit one hour lessons
Most require additional of activities and creativity
-frequent basic pair and small discussion opportunities are included, but more creativity is needed
Topics could be done in any order (though some elements are added cumulatively)
If interested in the rationale for the topic order, it was used to facilitate a course project and activities. The project involved small groups creating a company and several job openings at the company (hence the first 3 topics). The company and job openings were used for an hour-long job fair activity in the middle of the course. The created companies were also used for the final oral test job interviews and to practice different interview questions where company research/knowledge is recommended.
